石砌建筑的本能法则是下重上轻。总督宫却反其道而行之。自上而下品读它的立面，你会从一整片厚重的大理石，穿过一排纤细的立柱，再到直接立于铺石地面上的敞廊。重量在上，空隙在下——而它就这样屹立了六百年。

The wall
A vast unbroken plane of pink Verona marble and white Istrian stone, set in a diamond lattice, pierced by only a handful of very large windows. Behind it are the biggest rooms in the building, including the Great Council chamber. This is where nearly all the weight is.

The loggia
Seventy-one slender columns carrying pointed arches, and above them a continuous band of quatrefoil tracery — a running row of holes cut straight through the structural line. It is the most-copied piece of architecture in Venice and, structurally, the least likely.

The arcade
Thirty-six short, thick columns standing directly on the pavement with no plinths, open to the Piazzetta and the waterfront on two sides. Over the centuries the ground has risen around them, so they look stubbier now than they were built to look.

路线如何运行
从王座到牢房，有去无回
建议路线并不按宫殿的楼层直线排列：它在建筑中上下穿行，经过国家议事的各个厅室，最后以军械库、画廊和叹息桥对岸的监狱收尾。这座桥是整座建筑的枢纽。

The courtyard and the Giants' Staircase
You enter through the Porta della Carta into a Renaissance courtyard, at the head of which the Scala dei Giganti rises between colossal figures of Mars and Neptune — the two spheres, land and sea, that Venice claimed. Doges were crowned at the top of it.

The Scala d'Oro, vaulted in white stucco and 24-carat gold leaf. Built for ambassadors and dignitaries, it was designed to make the point about Venetian wealth before anyone had said a word.

Surprisingly restrained private rooms. The doge was an elected head of state hedged about with restrictions, not a monarch, and he had to furnish these rooms at his own family's expense and vacate them within days of dying.

The institutional chambers
The working rooms of the Republic — the Collegio, the Senate, the Council of Ten — each with a painted ceiling arguing, in allegory, that Venetian government was divinely endorsed. The Bocca di Leone, the lion's-mouth slot for anonymous denunciations, is on this route.

The Great Council chamber
The climax: 53 metres long, no columns, and Tintoretto's Paradise filling the wall behind the throne. Around the top runs a frieze of the doges' portraits, with one painted out in black.

The Bridge of Sighs
An enclosed white limestone bridge, built around 1600, crossing the Rio di Palazzo. Two narrow stone-latticed windows. Everything before it is government; everything after it is imprisonment.

Stone corridors and cells across the canal, built when the older cells inside the palace proved inadequate. You walk back over the bridge to leave — the only part of the route you do twice.

总督宫常见问题
门票包含什么？
总督宫指定日期预约入场，以及圣马可广场另外三座博物馆的门票：科雷尔博物馆、国家考古博物馆和马尔恰纳图书馆纪念厅。这三座博物馆与总督宫同在圣马可广场两端相对，从科雷尔博物馆进入。门票当日有效。
这和Venice Museum Pass是同一种吗？
不，这一点值得说清楚。威尼斯博物馆通票是一张覆盖范围更广、价格更高的门票，涵盖全市及各岛屿约十余家市立博物馆，有效期为六个月。而这张是圣马可广场博物馆门票：包含总督宫以及广场上的三座博物馆，有效期为一天。如果你在威尼斯停留时间短暂，主要想看总督宫，那这张票就是合适之选。
我需要选择时间段吗？

我应该预留多长时间？
宫殿本身建议预留两到三小时。参观路线较长，为单向通行，中途很难折返，而且各个厅室内容密集，处处值得驻足细看。如果您还打算游览同一张门票包含的另外三座博物馆，建议留出大半天时间，或者在门票有效期内另择一日前往。
叹息桥是什么？

怎么去那里？
